The Floating Wastewater System

Pollution in the seas comes from many sources. These are generally uncontrolled sewage, bilge water and solid wastes released from ships to the sea. Marine waste is one of the leading causes of marine pollution. It is essential that our natural heritage, as well as all our seas used for tourism and fishing, be protected from pollution.

The innovative floating treatment plant aims to prevent marine pollution at its source, caused by marine vessels in the coasts and bays, by ensuring the disposal of marine wastes at the source for the protection of sea and coastal areas.

The floating treatment system is a floating platform that solves all the stages of receiving, storing, transporting and treating the waste water from the ships at the same time and at the same point.
This system, which is self-contained and floats independently of the land, is currently operating in Göcek Kille bay, Muğla province, Turkey.

In addition, thanks to the system, the Carbon Footprint of the boats in the processes of going to the waste water receiving facilities to deliver waste water, waiting in line, and transferring the given waste water to the treatment facility is reset. In addition to these, it will also be able to eliminate the long waiting times complained of for wastewater treatment.

The floating wastewater reception and treatment plant is located 10-30 m from the shore. When necessary, it can be placed in land-bound locations such as ports, marinas, fishermen's shelters. The floating wastewater facility is located on the sea independently from the land and can operate on a 24-hour basis with its own equipment and facilities without direct and continuous logistics (energy, electricity, water, etc.) support from the land. Boats give the wastewater in their tanks to the system with special pumps on the floating structure.
